But so basically if i set up XMBC live on one box, and then set up SAMBA in FreeNAS' setting or wherever you have to set it up, the XMBC box should be able to find it? And would, for example, my regular laptop running Windows be able to find the NAS and get files from it too?

We have a set of beautiful screensavers that will give your boring screen a little bit of the wow factor. Choose from Nature, Entertainment & Sport for Android TV & Mobile and Tablet devices. The 4K Screensavers will produce amazing images to show off your screen upto a 4k resolution. There you can set up sharing to be able to open that folder from your laptop. They both have to be in the same workgroup/domain for it to work. If you are running XBMC on linux you will need to set up samba in order to share with windows. When you run the HDHomerun setup program, make sure you choose XBMC as your Main Application. This will create a folder on your local disc with *.strm files that XMBC can play once you scan in your channels. The folder will be C:\Users\ [accountname] \HDHomerun XBMC TV\ Create a separate folder for each stream that you will want to set up.
